Palazzo sul Garda is a perfect example of the fascinating 18th century Venetian architecture. Set in the lively lake resort of Toscalano Maderno, this spacious and elegant apartment is located on the Piano Nobile (first floor) of a three storey building. Outside, the shared garden offers lovely areas for relaxing in the shade or sunbathing by the lake.

Palazzo sul Garda has a nice view overlooking the little “Porticciolo” (small harbour) and the lake. It is furnished with beautiful antiques and all the rooms are completely frescoed. It is the perfect place for those who are looking for a really authentic experience in a special atmosphere. It sleeps up to 7 people in 3 double bedrooms and 1 single bedroom sharing 2 bathrooms.

Palazzo sul Garda is a large apartment located on the Piano Nobile (first floor) of a beautiful 18th century Palazzo. In the same building there are also the house of the owner (second floor) and two other apartments (ground floor) which are available for rent. For this reason the garden (800 sqm) is shared with other persons. The main part of the garden and the furnished marble column patio are exclusively reserved to the guests of our rental. A table for 8 and four lounge chairs are available. The other guests will use the garden only to reach the access to the lake.

The main central hallway leads to the nice garden (800 sqm). A parking for 2 cars is available in the hallway. It is also suggested to use the very comfortable public parking lots just in front of the building.

A splendid pietra serena stairs (36 steps) gives access to the first floor – piano nobile - where our apartment is located. The whole floor measures 700 sq mt, is completely decorated with frescoes dating back to the 1798 and has antique terracotta floors. Palazzo sul Garda consists of a spacious, bright and frescoed living room overlooking the lake, the little port and the garden.

A small living room with TV, CD player and access to the balcony overlooks the garden. A large frescoed dining room has a table for 8. The kitchen is equipped with Gas range, fridge, dishwasher, washing machine, oven, toaster, juice maker. One large and frescoed twin bedroom with en suite bathroom with shower. Two double bedrooms sharing a bathroom with shower.  One single bedroom. Beds and mattresses are all new in 2006. A baby bed is available. Telephone is available too.

The maid lives near the property and provides cleaning services 5 days per week. An Australian friend of the owner will meet the guests at their arrival. This antique property is located just at few kilometres from the historical centre of Toscolano Maderno, one of the most popular holiday resorts on Lake Garda. With its clear, clean and warm water, sunny beaches, mild climate and Mediterranean vegetation, Lake Garda is like a small sea set between the last spurs of the Alps and the Lombardy plain. Garda has been a favoured spot since Roman times and has been lauded by poets and writers through the ages, for example, Catullus, Goethe, Joyce and D'Annunzio. It unites its natural beauty with the traces of its history, from Roman remains to Liberty.

There are many interesting little towns situated along the coast or up the hills, - Salò (8 km) and Gardone Riviera (4 km), the beautiful Sirmione (37 km) - rich in history, culture, good restaurants and shops.

From the house it is possible to walk to the village (500 m) where bars, tobacconist and other shops, and the delicious Trattoria San Carlo are located. A larger shopping centre with pharmacy, groceries, post office and bank is at less than 1 km. The nearest train station is in Desenzano del Garda (27 Km)

Palazzo sul Garda enjoys a quiet location since the road leading to the house is used only by other people living in the area or people going to the Porticciolo - a little public harbour next to the house.  During summer season the harbour could be a little bit noisy, just a little, since it is really small!

Activities in the area:
From Windsurfing to sailing, from golf to rock-climbing, from bungee-jumping to trekking: on Lake Garda you can find facilities for almost any sort of sport and activity you can think of. Either alone or with a guide/instructor and for any level from beginner to expert: there is as much choice as anyone could wish for. Sun, clear and clean water, not crowded beaches and sports facilities of all types (from swimming-pools to tennis courts). The Lake Garda is just the place for relaxing but active holidays. 
Mountain-bike, Cycling, Excursions, Rock-climbing, Trekking, Horse-riding, Pony-trekking. Circolo Golf Bogliaco in Toscolano Maderno - 3 km. This is the oldest golf course around the lake dating from 1912. The course has 9 holes (plus a practice area) and is based in a hollow 100 m above the lake. Surrounded by Mediterranean vegetation it offers a splendid vista of the lake. Gardagolf Country club in Soiano del Garda - 21 km. This is a 27 hole course (110 hectares) in the hills of Valtenesi. It too has fine views across the lake from various points.

Special points of interest: In Verona don’t miss the Arena di Verona; in summer there are special music concerts and operas. (30 minutes by ferry + 39 km). In Rovereto don’t miss the MART – Museum of Modern Art of Trento and Rovereto. 59 Km
