This charming house is ideal for families or large groups, with generous accommodation for eight people. The swimming pool is completely private and guests can enjoy a holiday in the midst of abundant nature, without sacrificing any modern comforts. There are marvellous views of the Gran Sasso in the Sibillini Mountains, and the house is situated at seven hundred metres above sea level. Access is by a private road. It has a private fenced garden with its own swimming pool (8 by 4 metres), garden furniture and a barbeque. The property has been sympathetically restored to provide luxurious accommodation on three levels. 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms On the first floor there is a sitting room with a large fireplace, a dining room and fully equipped kitchen (oven, fridge, freezer and dishwasher), a bedroom with a queensize bed and a twin bedroom, a bathroom with a shower. The location is a tranquil position in the foothills of the Sibillini Mountains but it is well connected with the outside world. A few kilometres away, in the towns of Amandola and Sarnano, there are supermarkets, newsagents, restaurants, pharmacies, post office, banks and garages. The owners know the area intimately and can help guests find anything they need. For those who enjoy shopping, there are many factory outlets for the big names in Italian design, for example Armani (in Matelica), Nazareno Gabrielli (in Tolentino), Tod's (in S. Elpidio a Mare) and Prada (Monte Granaro). Villa Il Cerro is in the very heart of Le Marche. Due to its position at the meeting point of the three provinces, Ascoli, Macerata and Fermo, it is within easy reach of many centres of artistic and culture interest. Ascoli Piceno is approximately an hour away (little more than 40km). It is a one of Italy's most interesting cities both artistically and architecturally. The historical center is constructed in travertine, and the city abounds in buildings and churches of the medieval and renaissance periods Macerata (50km away) dates back to medieval times and has maintained many of its ancient buildings. The most famous of these is the Sferisterio, a nineteenth century construction originally intended for as a sports arena, now an open air amphitheatre with a concert programme of international level. Fermo (45km), capital of the recently established province of Fermo, has a well preserved medieval historical centre, alongside a modern city. Other historical centres of interest are Tolentino (40km), birth place of Saint Nicholas and home of the Museum of Cartoons and Caricature. In the summer guests can enjoy the “green Riviera of the Picena”, the beautifully appointed beaches that line the Adriatic. The nearest are Porto San Giorgio and Pedaso, approximately 50km away, accessed by the state roads 210 and 433. Porto San Giorgio has the added advantage of being a Blue Ribbon beach, which recognises not only the healthy condition of the sea but also acknowledges the attention to the local environment and the development of sustainable tourist facilities. Less than 80km away is the town of San Benedetto del Tronto, the most important of the towns along the Marche Riviera, with its fabulous “Riviera of Palms”. |
