A delightful apartment in the heart of the historical center just behind Piazza Navona and a few minutes walking distance from the Pantheon, Piazza Farnese and Campo de’ Fiori, Castel Sant'Angelo and about 10 minutes walk from Trevi Fountain and the Spanish Steps. Located on a cross street from Via dei Coronari, home of Rome's antiques dealers, it is also near the church of Santa Maria della Pace, one of Rome's most delightful little architectural gems, with Raphael frescoes and a cloister designed by Baramante which is the very first expression of High Renaissance style in Rome. Piazza Navona is surely one of the most beautiful baroque sites in all Rome. It's this ochre-colored gem, unspoiled by new buildings or even by traffic. In 1644 Bernini and Borromini constructed the colossal Fontana dei Quattro Fiumi, symbolizing the four corners of the world: the Danube (Europe), the Nile (Africa), the Ganges (Asia), and the Rio de la Plata (America). Our charming apartment is on the 2nd floor (no elevator). It is about 60 sq.mt. The building is a splendid restored 14th century style palazzo. The entrance is a bright open courtyard flanked by white marble column. The accommodation is elegantly and tastefully furnished, and the wood beamed ceiling and authentic parquet floor complete its appealing beauty and charm. A real bonus is a small balcony overlooking the internal courtyard. There is a warm bright living-room with two white sofas and an olive wood secretaire and built-in bookcases overlooking the living-room. The kitchenette is fully equipped with all necessary cooking supplies and has a dining table for two. In the airy bright bedroom is a queen size bed, an arm-chair, a wardrobe and a small desk. The room has a tall window overlooking an internal open courtyard which makes it very quiet and peaceful. The beautiful modern bathroom has a bath-tub with shower and is tiled with sparkling white ceramics. Amenities: Telephone/fax, TV, VCR, iron, ironing board, stove/oven, washing-machine and central heating.
