San Casciano is dramatically located in the heart of Tuscany's Chianti region with expansive views over the olive groves, vineyards, woods and country estates. This is a great rental for 10 + 4 people only 2 km from Mercatale Val di Pesa and 18 km from Florence.

This is an ideal setting for a wonderful vacation. The location couldn’t be better – it is private, in a tranquil position on a hillside just 15 minutes south of Florence, with easy access to the charming Chianti hill towns, at 50 minutes from Siena and 1 hour from Lucca. This is a well-appointed, spacious villa, authentically restored and surrounded by olive groves, perfect for four couples or extended family.

A typically rough dirt road (1200 meters) brings you to the house, through vineyards, and olive groves. The building dates back almost one thousand years ago, in the Medieval period, and was totally restored in 2006. It was a small monastery and evolved into a country house some centuries later.

San Casciano has beautiful terracotta tiles and beamed ceilings and covers 530 sq mt over two floors:

Ground floor

- Entry hall

- 1 double bedroom (5 steps) with twin beds (can be joined on request) and bathroom (shower)

- 1 master bedroom with en suite bathroom (Jacuzzi tub)
- 1 twin bedroom with en suite bathroom (shower)
- 2 double bedrooms, each with en suite bathroom (shower); the double beds cannot be separated

All of the upstairs bedrooms are air-conditioned.

The fenced property covers 10,000 sq mt and includes the house (530 sq mt), the pool (15 x 7.50 meters) open May 1 – Sept 30 with Jacuzzi, a small annex (40 sq mt) where the owner’s belongings are stored.

The lawn is bordered with rose bushes and olive trees. A stone patio with a barbecue provides shelter for al fresco dining at a long table with comfortable chairs. From here some steps takes you to the fresh water pool with Jacuzzi. The area is furnished with sun beds, tables and chairs with umbrellas.

Only upon request and owner’s approval the annex (1 bedroom upstairs and 1 bathroom) can be added to the rental (it cannot be rented alone).

Maid service daily: 3 hrs/day Monday to Saturday

Parking inside the property. Satellite TV. Horse riding 3 km - wine tasting. Sorry pets are not allowed!

Due to the stone steps connecting the two floors Podere San Casciano is not suitable to people with walking difficulties.
