The Fattoria is a villa which was realized from the clever restoration of an ancient building, constructed at the end of the XV century by the Medici family. The building has wonderful views and it is located in the very centre of the small and beautiful village of Stibbio.

The Medici Farm gives you the possibility to spend an unforgettable holiday in Tuscany. The villa is about 450 m2, totally at guests’ disposal. The farm is full of charm and history and is furnished with antiques and at the same time is equipped with all the modern comforts that you need: internet access, hi-fi, Satellite TV, air conditioning, heating…

If you look out of the windows and from the terrace you have a stunning vista -- the great landscape of the forest and the sweet Tuscan hills, cultivated with olive trees.
From the garden of the villa, along a short and panoramic footpath, you can easily reach the lovely Voghera valley and the big private garden of 7000 m2 with the swimming pool. This area is equipped with toilets, kitchen, dressing room, and is furnished with tables, armchairs and deck-chairs.

Along the same path you can also reach also the horse training area and spend some time riding on horseback in the forest or in the countryside, where there is no traffic. You can also hike or rent a bike. For those who don’t like to walk you can easily drive to the swimming pool in just two minutes.

The property is located in the centre of Tuscany, just 8 km from San Miniato, a small and lovely town famous for its history, its ancient architecture, the white “tartufo” (truffles) and for many typical products of this area (wine, olive oil, vegetables…). In San Miniato there is also a 9-hole golf club. San Miniato is located about 15 km from Stibbio and it is a very nice village, with a marvellous architecture, churches and monuments. Stibbio is a very small village with no shops. It is located in a very quiet area, in the heart of the countryside but very close to other villages. The closest shops are in San Romano, 5 minutes driving from the Fattoria. Other shops are in Ponte a Egola, again 5 minutes away. In San Miniato guests will find many nice shops selling local products and nice restaurants like Pepenero www.pepenerocucina.it which is run by the owners of this property.

The building, with a compact and austere main facade, which faces the church, is more pleasant at the back, thanks to the lateral structures, which extend towards the garden. The coat of arms of the Medici family is on the top of the main door which opens into the great hall with the beautiful wooden ceiling and with the walls decorated with drawings of with flowers.

In the hall there is a big fireplace; its surround and seats are made of stone, the floor of the main room is made of terracotta and the original doors have frames made of the beautiful grey Pietraserena (serene stone). In this room guests can sit around a big table and enjoy typical Tuscan cooking, prepared by an expert chef.

On the same floor there is a large, well equipped kitchen. Guests can use the big fireplace or the wood fired oven to cook. The great hall opens to the sitting room, the TV room, the reading room which opens to the terrace. From this terrace you can reach a second larger terrace, ideal for breakfast or relaxing in the balmy summer nights.

From the main staircase of the hall you reach the first floor. A great room, which was originally used as a granary and warehouse, is now furnished with a big comfortable sofa, armchairs and floor of warm and hospitable parquet. This room leads to five bedrooms, all with different colours, decorations and furnishings. Each room is double except one which is connected to another sweet room with a single bed. The bedrooms all have a private bathroom with shower except for one which has shower and bathtub facilities. They are also equipped with telephone, internet access and a small safe. All rooms are air-conditioned.

The villa sleeps eleven with the possibility of five extra single beds which do not create a problem of space in the bedrooms.

Twenty meters from the Villa, there is a guest house of about 70 sq mt, with two queensize bedrooms, a large kitchen with a double sofa bed and a big bathroom with shower.

Guests can enjoy some wonderful proposals, starting from fitness and wellness and wines and truffles but also many other possibilities like cooking lessons, wine tasting in the cellar of the restaurant, shopping in the beautiful outlets of the area and so on.

The pool is a short walk from the villa.

The most beautiful cities of Tuscany (Firenze, Pisa, Lucca, Siena, Vinci, San Gimignano, Certaldo, Volterra) are no further away than 60 km. The medieval villages, castles, lovely landscape are easily reached in a day trip and the wonderful beaches of the Tirreno coastline and the amusing night life of Viareggio and Forte dei Marmi are reached in an hour.
